However, according to Guinness World Records,”White Christmas” (1942) by Bing Crosby is in fact the best-selling single worldwide. The holiday perennial sold more than 50 million copies.

The song was listed as the world’s best-selling single in the first-ever Guinness Book of Records back in 1955 and remarkably it still retains the title 57 years later. But now the music industry is turning digital, which means that listening and buying music couldn’t be easier. Number 1 – In first place, selling 14.5 million copies is I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas. The dance/pop tune is the second single on the group’s The E.N.D album produced by David Guetta. The catchy song reached the number one spot in 20 charts worldwide. It was nominated for Best Song of the Year at the 52nd Grammy Awards, as well as winning a Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. It holds the record on iTunes for the most downloaded song of all time.

Number 2 – Tik Tok by Kesha sold a staggering 12.8 million digital copies. It was the lead single on Kesha’s début studio album Animal. It was certified 5x platinum for five million copies and has sold over six million copies in the US. It doubled that figure in digital sales and became the best selling single of 2010.
